♥ SPREADING LOVE IN NURSING HOMES ♥ You know what time it is! It’s February, and love is in the air! So it’s time for some Valentine’s Day reviews! If you didn’t know, Audrey and I are in a Girl Scout troop! Every year, during February, we go to visit Ventura Health and Rehab Center to give out Valentine cards, chocolates, and more! We are here to tell you the stories of going there! So sit back, relax, and let’s go! It all started in 2018 when our Girl Scout troop, a group of seven girls (Including Audrey and I) went to the nursing home to bring smiles to people’s faces. And if you’re wondering who’s in the Girl Scout troop, it’s a few of our friends, including Sofi (Yes! The other author on this blog!). The first year is a little blurry, but I loved it the most ! It felt so good to the residents happy, so we went the next year! In 2019, we went our second time. It was the same as usual until we met a man named Mr. Gold. He was the nicest man we’ve ever met! We gave him his goodies, and he actually cried with joy! It felt so amazing to see the happiness on Mr. Gold’s face. Then 2020 came along, (we all know what happened after February ;), and we went again, of course. We loved giving out the Valentine cards that we had made and treats to the people at the rehab. They had a big smiles on their faces the whole time. It feels very good giving back and just saying hi for a short amount of time. The people who work at the rehab were so happy as well. Sadly, we couldn’t go this year due to Covid-19. But we hope we can maybe drop something off this year and come back next year in person. Now that we are done talking about our stories, let's talk more about the place! The environment was overall clean and organized. All the people who are living there share a room with one person. The staff is incredibly nice and gave us a mini-tour of the place. There are several rooms with different things inside each one. It is a nice rehab and they take care of everyone very well. Maybe you can go and stop by and say hello. Or maybe you can stop by this year or next year to give out Valentines safely. It never hurts to make a difference and put a smile on someone’s face. Lakyn and I rate this place a 5 out of 5. We hoped you enjoyed our field trip and stories of visiting the seniors at Ventura Health and Rehab Center, and stay safe! Lakyn & Audrey

10/28/2020 0 Comments Dunes Village, Mrytle Beach Last year we took a family vacation to Dunes Village in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was my first time going out of Florida and we had the best time.
Dunes Village are condos you rent out. You can rent as many rooms as you want and for as little or as long of a stay as you want. It’s right on the beach. Perfect for family beach days! There is an inside water park for kids to enjoy! They also have a kids club so the adults can go enjoy the spa and gym. There are also many nearby attractions and things to do. They have a go-cart place that has tracks that go up to a second floor for older kids and adults to enjoy and smaller tracks for the younger kids. There is also an outlet mall nearby in case you want to go shopping and a boardwalk with a Ferris wheel! Overall Dunes Village in Myrtle Beach is great with a lot of things to do for the whole family so everyone can enjoy the vacation! |
