Minecraft is very popular with over 200 million copies sold in the USA. It has been growing insanely fast with 5.43 million copies sold in 2020 alone. Minecraft has something bubbling on the surface that is making the Minecraft fandom all over the world go crazy. It is the Caves & Cliffs update. The Caves & Cliffs update is going to add a lot of stuff in Summer 2021 to the Caves and Cliffs. This is very exciting because it is a very wanted update. I think that it will grow Minecraft player accounts by a lot. Anyway, let’s dive into the Caves & Cliffs update. I will start with the caves first. The caves have been reworked so that they are bigger, so they can have more stuff in the caves. They also add biomes to the caves, so that they can be unique. Unlike the old caves that have only stone and ores in them, the biomes of the new caves are Lush caves, Dripstone cave, Deep Dark, and Mesh caves. The Lush caves, as in the name, added a lot of vegetation in the form of a block. It also has vines that have berries that glow in the dark. They added a new mob that lives in the lush caves. It’s called Axolotls. They live in the water and you can pick them up in a bucket. The next one is the Dripstone cave! The Dripstone caves are like real life caves that they put into Minecraft. They also added stromatolites (the spikes in caves) and they added gravity to the stromatolites so if you break the top of the stromatolites then they fall down. The next cool cave biome is the Deep Dark. The Deep Dark consists of many new blocks. One of them is called Sculk Sensor Block. This block senses movement through not seeing but feeling. When it feels movement it will light up. There is also a new mob in Deep Dark. It's called The Warden. The Warden does the same thing as the Sculk Sensor Block, but it attacks you and unlike the Sculk Sensor Block you can shift so it can’t feel you. If you attack the Warden it will get stronger. The more you attack it the stronger it gets. The last cave is the Mesh caves. Sadly we don’t know much about it yet, but we know that it has its own mob and some new blocks and that’s about it. Hopefully, we can learn more about the Mesh caves, but for now we have to wait. Now onto the cliffs; let’s start with goats! Goats are neutral mobs that will fling you if you get too close to the edge of a mountain. They can be bred and it is unknown what they will drop. They also have resistance to fall damage and they have the ability to jump higher than most mobs. What I want from these: I want the goats to be rideable. Last is improved mountain generation. Mountains will be way taller and harder to climb in this update, they will also contain powdered snow and some ice. Goats will live up here, so stay away from the edge! What I want from this: I would love to have Yetis in Minecraft that live up here to make mountains harder (they’d basically be snow wardens). Now onto the cliffs; let’s start with goats! Bundles allow you to store one stack of ANY TYPE of item in one slot. For example, these can store 32x stone and 32x diamond blocks. They also can be put inside each other; this is a glitch yet to be fixed (Note: Items with smaller to no stack size take up more space.) What I want from this: I want bundles to be upgradable to hold 2 or more stacks of items This would be a VERY cool feature! I also want a bundle that can be worn on your chest instead of a chest plate. Hot, candles! Candles are light sources (barely) that have different colors and can be lit with flint and steel. These could be cool for some builds but I find them to be pretty useless. What i want from this: JUST GIVE US BRIGHTER CANDLES ALREADY. Look at that lovely tinted glass. Tinted glass is a glass type that allows for builds with a spookier atmosphere because it doesn't let light through. What I want from this: different shades of tinted glass, each allowing different light levels to pass through. Look through a spyglass. The spyglass allows you to zoom in and see your Minecraft world from closer up. It can be used to find secrets in maps or spy on players from on top of the updated mountains. What I want from this: I want a feature that would let me mount a spyglass on a block so I can see through it at all times. Ccccold! The powdered snow can be used as a trap block or for hiding and spying on players with the spyglass. The snow can be found on mountains. Powdered snow is the only non-fluid in Minecraft to be carried in buckets. Powdered snow cannot suffocate you but it can freeze you slowly. What I want from this: I want snow with randomized height to improve mountains even more! This is all the information we have, for now. While we wait for the update to be released we can play the 1.17 snapshots. Overall the update is great and we are looking forward to it. -------------- You can watch the reveal show here -------------- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWZIfsaIgtE&t=3s -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
